How Often Should You Touch Up Your Permanent Brows?

Permanent brows shouldn’t be permanent forever—and that’s actually a good thing. Your brows are meant to evolve with your face, style, and age. The key to keeping them looking fresh? Knowing when to touch them up.

When to Schedule a Touch-Up

A general rule: wait until your brows have faded by around 70%. For most people, that happens between 12–18 months after their initial session. But the exact timeline depends on:

  • Your skin type (oily skin fades faster)

  • Sun exposure

  • Skincare habits (exfoliants, retinol, etc.)

👉 If you're starting to fill in your brows again or they’re looking a bit dull—it's time.

Why Touching Up Too Soon Can Backfire

We get it—when your brows start to fade, the temptation is real. But too-frequent touch-ups can lead to:

  • Pigment buildup (think dense, saturated brows that lose softness)

  • Loss of shape precision

  • Harder corrections later

Instead, wait until your brows are truly ready. This allows us to:

  • Add definition without heaviness

  • Adjust the color to suit your skin's current undertone

  • Make shape refinements based on your features

How to Keep Your Brows Looking Beautiful

✔ Use SPF daily—yes, even in winter
✔ Avoid strong acids or retinol around the brow area
✔ Come in for touch-ups only when needed (less is more!)
